I use the plugin for a website to show or hide the navigation. but the user can't scroll vertically anymore.
is there a solution for this?
can i use only left and right swipes and keep the vertical swipes with default browser behaviour?

There is just one problem
I want to find out element id that is triggering the event

My code is like this:

  $('#stngs_settingsPage, #stngs_infoPage, #stngs_replayPage, #stngs_paytablePage').wipetouch({
        wipeLeft: function(res) {
            //back to main menu
            showPage('#stngs_mPage', 'main');
        },
        wipeRight: function(res) {
            //back to main menu
            showPage('#stngs_mPage', 'main');
        },
        wipeUp: function(res) {
             var id = $(this).attr('id');
             //var id = '#stngs_settingsPage';
             $(id).animate({ height: '100%', scrollTop: $(id).height() }, 500);
        },
        wipeDown: function(res) {
            var id = '#stngs_settingsPage';
            $(id).animate({ height: '100%', scrollTop: 0 }, 500);
        }

     });

Want to be able to scroll in Settings page div
but can't seems to find element id that triggers the event.

I've been wondering the same thing, but I don't think it's possible. So I have created a version (based on 1.2.0) which allows this.

Also fixed tapToClick as I'm pretty sure that was always treated as being enabled even if set to false.

I'm not using Mercurial so not going to fork, instead here's a pastie...

http://pastie.org/5406648

Just use the following on the same element(s) you've already added wipetouch functionality to:

$(document).wipetouch({remove:true});

Great plugin! Very smooth and easy to us…

I have this site with a slideshow where I use the swipe left/right to go between images, but there's also a zoom feature and once the bigger zoomed in image shows up on top of the slideshow, the swipe events from the slides under the zoomed in image are
still being triggered.

How can I turn them off?

Thanks!!

Hello,

I use wipetouch for an iPad project, it work realy good, very simple to implement, it's cool!

But I have an issue with it, a link element (<a href="">) doesn't work when I listen swipe event on it container. It work if there is a jQuery event, but not if it is simple link, with just a "href" attribute.

I founded the mistake, near line 268, you do a "touchedElement.trigger("click");", but this only dispatch jquery event, not a "real" click.

In my case, I just replace this line by

var eClick = document.createEvent('MouseEvent');
eClick.initMouseEvent('click', true, true, window, 1,startX, startY, startX, startY, false, false, false, false, 0, null);
var rootNode = e.target;
while (rootNode.nodeType !== 1) {
rootNode = rootNode.parentNode;
}
rootNode.dispatchEvent(eClick);

It's create a real click event in javascript, and so, it's work both with jquery event and without.
Maybe it could be a good feature to test and implement in a future version?
(sorry for my english.. hope you'll understand me!)

Hey, I'm trying to use this on my galaxy S2 and it does not work except for the click. I bring it up on my browser and the click and drag works in the demos. Is this product finished? I really do want to use it!

unfortunately I can only get the plugin do work on Safari Mac, not on iPad1 (iOS 4.3.3) even with your tweak above.

funny enough, it's the opposite with the touchwipe plugin upon which this is based, works on iOS, not on Mac !?

New Post: iPad 2 does not work

I haven't used jQuery and WipeTouch for a while, so I had to work this out just now.

I have good news and bad news: the bad news is that this information is not known in the wipeLeft function. The good news is that you can hack your way around it :) here's how:

On line 273 in jquery.wipetouch.js you see the creation of a result object. This object is passed to all the wipe* functions. You have to add an extra property in that result object. It looks something like this:

var result = {
     speed: parseInt(s),
     x: ax,
     y: ay,
     source: e.target
};

Remember that e is the jQuery event. You can get all sorts of information out of it. (http://api.jquery.com/category/events/event-object/), which you can add to the result object. You can be brutal and put the entire event in the result object :))

Now, all that is left is using that result object in your function. In your example, you are using the parameterless variant, but in fact the result object is the one parameter given to wipe*:

$('.kit').wipetouch({

  wipeLeft: function(result) {

     var source = result.source;

If e.target is not the right object, then you have to experiment a bit with jQuery event properties until you find the right one.

Hope this helps,

Surf

New Post: iPad 2 does not work

That was brilliantly fast, thanks - and also for pointing me to the latest release, I was mistakenly looking under source code rather than downloads, and only had v1.0.3

I have another question for you then ;) how to I get to the element which triggered the touch, i.e. the elt that is being wiped (at start) :

ex, where 'kit' is a class attached to a series of <img>

$('.kit').wipetouch({

  wipeLeft: function() {

   // I need do something with the div or img where the touch occured (ex. swap it with previous

// below doesn't work

   var id=$(this).parent().attr('id');

  },

  // ....

});
